Scientific attitudes among the students of the third stage of life sciences section about animal tissue material
Abstract
Animal tissues occupies great importance among other scientific subjects taught by students of the third stage, Department of Life Sciences, as it is a scientific subject rich in science, knowledge, and facts that pertain to the animal body.
Modern philosophy in teaching science emphasizes the effective and positive role of the student as the center of gravity in the educational process and its axis, and emphasizes learning instead of education (Khalaf 1999, p. 5).
By examining the grades of the students of the third stage of life sciences, the two researchers noticed a decrease in the success rates in the subject of animal tissues during the past two years. Therefore, the researchers measured the students' attitudes towards this subject and knowing whether there were positive or negative trends and the possibility of modifying the negative trends.
The study aimed to measure the scientific attitudes of the students of the third stage, Department of Life Sciences, towards animal tissues.
The descriptive method was used for this study for its suitability. The research sample consisted of (129) male and female students, with (54) male and (75) female students. The scale of scientific trends built by the researcher Najla Mahmoud Hussein was used in her master's thesis in 1999, after making modifications to it to suit the subject of animal tissues and students of the third stage, and its validity and reliability were found. And the discriminatory power of all its paragraphs, the data were processed statistically using the T-test, and the results showed that there were positive trends towards the animal tissue material for each of the two sexes.
