Abstract

The current research aims to build a measure of cognitive and perceptual curiosity. The basic research sample consisted of (134) male and female students who were randomly selected in an equal stratified manner from the fifth grade of middle school from the schools of the displaced in Erbil, for the academic year (2019-2020), distributed among (8) preparatory schools. (4) of them for males and (4) for females, with (67) male and (67) female students, and to achieve the research objectives, the research tool was built to measure cognitive and perceptive curiosity, which consisted in its final form of (40) attitudes, with four choices ranging from the best (the most Curious) to the least (less curious), and the researchers verified the virtual, structural, and subjective validity of the tool, as well as verifying the stability of the tool in two ways, the first by re-testing, and its stability coefficient reached (0.83), and the second by using the alpha-Cronbach equation, whose stability coefficient value reached (0, 84), and the data were treated statistically using the simple correlation coefficient, the (t) test for one sample and two independent samples, and the (t) test for the significance of the correlation coefficient. .
