Self-deception and its relationship to defeatist behavior among middle school students

The research aims to know 1- To identify the level of self-deception among middle school students. 2- Identifying the degree of defeatist behavior among middle school students. 3- Identifying the nature of the correlation between self-deception and defeatist behavior among preparatory students. The research sample consisted of (120) male and female students. A questionnaire was prepared to know the level of self-deception and a questionnaire was prepared to know the degree of defeatist behaviour. The results showed the following: There is a high degree of self-deception. 2- Defeative behavior is above average. 3- There is a positive and statistically significant correlation between self-deception and defeatist behavior among middle school students. Among these results, the researcher presented a number of recommendations and proposals, including: The researcher recommends activating the role of educational counseling in schools through monitoring and diagnosing each disgraceful behavior and striving to solve problems discreetly and scientifically. reduction and methods of treatment. The researcher suggests conducting a study to investigate the reasons behind the students' resort to self-deception and their tendency to defeatist behaviour.
