The philosophy of the third place and its role in the sustainability of information institutions and libraries

The research aimed to shed light on what the third place is in terms of definition and concept, and to clarify the relationship, characteristics and functions of the third place to sustainable development and information institutions and libraries, to define the functions of the third places and to explain their relationship to sustainable development, and to clarify the facts that make information institutions and libraries an immutable third place. As for the research method: the researchers used the analytical documentary method in this research because it is the most appropriate to the nature and requirements of the research. As for the most important conclusions, they are represented in: The third place is a public place other than the home and the workplace where people can gather and meet in it without restrictions and conditions, and the third place works in accordance with the sustainable development call for the sustainability of cities and societies, and thus the third place achieves part of the goals of sustainable development, sustainable cities And suitable for peaceful coexistence are those cities that give their citizens opportunities to spend beautiful or happy times outside the home and workplace, and this is what the third place is working on.
