"Measuring the level of love according to Sternberg's theory among students of the College of Education for Girls / Iraqi University" Prof. Dr. Kifah Yahya Salih Al-Askari M. Ruqia Rafid Shaker
Current search goal:
The first objective: to identify the level of representation of love among students of the College of Education for Girls according to:
1- The scale as a whole 2- The intimacy component 3- The emotion component 4- The commitment component.
The second objective: to identify the differences in the level of the love triangle according to the variable stages (second - fourth) according to: 1- the scale as a whole 2- the intimacy component 3- the emotion component 4- the commitment component.
The research community consists of female students of the College of Education for Girls, Iraqi University for the academic year 2018-2019. The research sample consisted of female students of the College of Education for Girls, and (72) students were randomly selected from the departments.
The five i.e. the sample was chosen at 5.7%
The researchers relied on the Sternberg love triangle scale to reveal the level of love among college students. The scale consists of (45) items that measure the three basic components: 1- Intimacy, which consists of (10) items, 2- Passion, which consists of (20) items, 3- Commitment, which consists of (20) items. From (15) paragraphs and for each dimension of the three dimensions, it was placed in the form of a three-dimensional scale whose phrase falls from (never applicable, moderately applicable, always applicable) and each of them was given a score (1, 2, 3) respectively. The highest score is (135). (45 degrees) and the lowest score (45 degrees) and the theoretical average (90 degrees). After the scale obtained its psychometric characteristics of validity and reliability, the scale was distributed to the students and statistical methods were used: Pearson’s correlation coefficient, the t-test for one sample, and the t-test for two samples
The results of the research showed that the research sample had a high level of love according to the theory of the total love triangle, and there was no difference in the level of the love triangle according to the phase variable (second-fourth).
The two researchers recommended:
The need to pay attention to providing counseling programs for college students about love and its types in order to protect them from the mistakes made by male and female students.
The need for guidance to spread educational programs about love in media and educational institutions.
The two researchers suggested:
1- Conducting a study to identify the level of love triangle among university students.
2- Conducting a study similar to the current study on a sample of male and female employees.
