Abstract

The school is one of the most important institutions established by the community to educate future generations, an intentional education that aims to provide students with behavioral patterns, attitudes, values and skills necessary for the continuity of society and its progress forward. The curriculum is the means of education, which is one of the pillars of the psychological construction of the personality, and in its framework the growth takes place mentally and psychologically. There is a close relationship between the curriculum and teaching methods, and it is one of the important means in translating the curriculum into what it aspires to. This is why developing countries strive to face various challenges in an attempt to overcome problems with the aim of catching up with the developed countries that realized with faith in the importance of building curricula on sound foundations in order to advance their societies. (Nashwan 1984 .: 37) Given the importance of the curricula, the social curricula occupied a prominent position among the other curricula. The interest in these curricula has increased in order to build and develop educational institutions due to the importance of this in building the students’ personality in the future. (Hamidah. 2000: 233) The development of social science curricula One of the things that must be done because it is related to human development, building and preparation, as he will be able to grasp the accuracy of development in all areas of life. (Al-Wakil 1982: 9) The interest in the curricula of social sciences has increased in our present time due to the rapid changes the world is witnessing that require a change in the study programs in a manner consistent with the preparation of generations in order to become active in the ever-evolving and ever-changing society. (Al-Tamimi 1989: 23) The history curriculum is one of the social sciences curricula that is concerned with studying the present and its roots in the recent and distant past. It follows the story of man, his origin, his development, his relationship, his problems, and his development, which participates in clarifying the roots stemming from that present in which we live and determines future directions. History has the greatest role in students’ understanding of the existing problems that surround them in the present, and their roots. In order to prepare students for life.
