Abstract

The common values among the members of society constitute the solid wall that shows the cohesion of society and the integration of its social structure. The landmarks of societies and peoples have been concerned with the consolidation of benevolent values through various means, including the media, schools, and mass organizations. The schools have taken upon themselves the interest of the individual as a building unit in the social system, and emphasized the importance of values in his life and in our country. It is part of the Arab heritage of the nation and has adopted several means to achieve this, including books, educational aids and school theatre. In view of the theater’s importance in consolidating values, the Ministry of Education in Iraq has issued three parts of chanting and theatrical texts. These texts dealt with many topics, political, educational, historical, religious, etc., for all educational stages. In this study, the two researchers studied and analyzed "theatrical and chanting texts - issued by the Ministry of Education in the Republic of Iraq in 1980". The study aimed to identify the types of values included in the theatrical texts, in addition to the extent to which the theatrical texts, the subject of research, achieve the marked educational goals. The researchers relied on the method of content analysis in its procedures. After collecting information and data, he prepared a standard for analysis based on the analysis of the objectives of the Ministry of Education in the Iraqi country, and he worked on codifying the standard by presenting it to experts, and one of the analysts was used to extract stability. He also used the “idea” as a unit for analysis and used “repetition” as a unit to enumerate the appearance of each category. Of the items, an equal weight was given to each unit of content. The two researchers reached a number of results, including: 1- The need for a large number of theatrical texts in order to balance the size of the values that the ministry seeks to inculcate among students. 2- Adherence to certain topics and ideas imposed by the nature of the stage the Arab nation is going through with its enemies. 3- The texts subject of the study did not rise to the level of the values and goals that it seeks to consolidate in the hearts of the masses. 4- Paying attention to the vocabulary of life, which together forms the values of personality integration and building the individual in a correct practical building. 5- The contribution of some texts to the consolidation of some values and ideas that the school seeks to achieve.
