Fever, brucellosis (Malta fever) and proliferation factors among residents of areas of retail, teachers and Khatoon
Abstract
This study aims to determine the prevalence of Malta fever in the regions of Mafraq, Al Muallem and Al Katoon. The study included (463) patients, of whom (147) were males and (316) were females, their ages ranged from (5-60) years.
An examination (Rose Bengal Test) was conducted to diagnose infection with the bacterium Brucella spp, which causes Malta fever. The examination kit produced by the Spanish company LaB Kit was used. The diagnosis depends on the combination of antigens with antibodies produced in the patient's blood due to infection.
The results showed an increase in the number of injuries during the study period compared to the number of injuries in previous years. It also showed that the infection rate among females was higher compared to the number of injuries among males.
The results showed that the age group (20-40) years recorded the highest rate of infection, compared with other age groups, in addition to that the incidence in rural areas was higher than the incidence in the city.
