Abstract

This research aims to stand on the expressions and terminology related to pronunciation and verbal defects, which were included in the investigations of the Arabic scholars of the Kufans in a major way, or what was transmitted from them in other than their investigations, in order for the picture to be more complete. This means that the books of the Kufans will be the main sources for the material of this research, and the book (The Creation of Man) by Thabit bin Abi Thabit stands at the forefront of it, as the material included in this fulfills a lot of what was implied in the pages of this research in terms of terms and terminology, and then books come after it Other Kufians, such as the book (Reform of Mantiq) by Ibn Al-Sakit, and the book (Al-Majmal) by Ibn Faris, and the like, which will be referred to by their places in the footnotes and sources of this research. The research has benefited from other books, i.e. non-Kufian books, as well, and perhaps the most prominent of what came to us from this is what is included in the book (Al-Mukhassos) by Ibn Sayedah, and other things that will be referred to in its places as well.
