Abstract

The historical study of political theories acquires a special importance, as it clearly shows the course of the emergence and development of ruling systems, and thus explains the development reached by the prevailing ideas in those eras, and in societies and the extent of their advancement, because the criterion of progress for any society is measured by the depth of the intellectual products that it creates. In other words, the study of political theories means the study of the development of human thought, as well as the study of the development of society. This is the true study of history. Within this framework comes the study of the divine mandate theory, which is the result of the development of human society from the fifth century BC until the middle of the seventeenth century, in all of Europe, and then it was able to circulate it to various parts of the world. Perhaps the most important problem faced by the research is the scarcity of modern Arabic sources that search for this subject.
