Abstract

In the course of their daily lives, people face many situations, events and problems that constitute unexpected challenges as they use most of their knowledge and skills to control such challenges and then overcome them later. At a time when scientific studies agree that the mental and cognitive life of a person is the outcome of the interaction of genetic biological potentials and the surrounding environment, they focus on the role played by the first five studies in the formation of the individual's personality. As the forms of behavior and personality patterns are determined to a large extent during this period. (Al-Jasmani, 1983, p. 44) (Cognitive growth starts from a small store of knowledge and the few and scattered information that the newborn picks up through his senses. He constantly searches for explanations, and this phenomenon appears when the child acquires the language: he asks about everything and he always tries to discover what is permissible for him and what is forbidden for him) (Al-Hamdani, 1985, p. 184). Perhaps one of the most important aspects of the child’s cognitive development is what is known as the self-concept, which is one of the strongest and most influential components of his personality because it is the center of good psychological harmony, personal happiness, and effective performance (Mahfouz, 1988, p. 13). This concept derives its aspects from the social environment of the child, which contributes to the formation of a positive or negative concept for him, as he is influenced by his family members first and simulates their behavior secondly so that he develops a special and unique fabric through which he lives with society. An organic being that creates symbols and replaces them constantly, and cognitive development is the tool that transfers the child in his primitive states to the thinking person, the innovator who makes theories in various sciences) (Al-Hamdani, 1985, p. One of his experiences about himself first and about the world around him second. She emphasized that the role of the family is important in establishing a unique behavioral pattern for the child in dealing with information and in the judgment he makes through it on things and their causes and whether they are within the reach of self-control or not.
