Coexistence skills and their relationship to ego strength among university students

The aim of the current research is to identify each of the coexistence skills and ego strength among university students and the relationship between them, and to reveal the differences in the coexistence skills according to the variable (sex - specialization), as well as the differences in the ego strength according to the variable (sex - specialization). The basic research sample was (150) male and female students (75) males and (75) females, and the coexistence skills scale was built, while the researcher adopted the ego strength scale prepared by Odeh (2002). The data were processed using the statistical package (SPSS). The research found the following results: The level of coexistence skills among university students is within the average level, as well as the strength of ego among university students. There is a statistically significant relationship between coexistence skills and ego strength among university students. There is a statistically significant difference in coexistence skills according to the gender variable in favor of males, while there is no statistically significant difference according to specialization. There are no statistically significant differences in the strength of the ego according to the variable of gender and specialization for university students. The researcher made a number of recommendations, including interest in including the curricula and in the various educational stages, in a way that develops the idea of a culture of respect and coexistence with others. The researcher suggested conducting a study on the power of the ego and its relationship to decision-making among university students.
