The motive of academic achievement is one of the basic motives that drive human behavior and its reflection on the level of efficiency of performance during the process of psychological and mental interaction of students. The researcher chose the descriptive approach due to its suitability to the nature of the research, and the sample was randomly selected from middle school students, the fifth literary grade, in Diyala Preparatory School for Boys and Tahrir High School for Girls. The researcher applied the Souad Ahmed Mawla scale after presenting it to the experts and making some modifications to it, then the data were extracted and treated statistically. The researcher concluded that male students enjoy a higher achievement motivation than female students, and she recommended the need for teachers to pay attention to raising the level of academic achievement motivation through the use of modern educational methods.
