Abstract

The current study aims to use the Rasch model in constructing a measure of psychopathic personality disorder among middle school students. To achieve this goal, the researcher formulated (48) items distributed over (8) domains to measure psychopathic personality disorder according to the definition issued by the American Psychiatric Association in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual. The fifth is for psychological and mental disorders, and the sample was chosen in a random stratified manner. It numbered (300) male and female students from the scientific and literary branch in the preparatory schools in the Karkh sector (first - second - third). To verify the assumptions of this model, the researcher followed the following steps: 1- One-dimensional The factorial analysis of the eight components was carried out, as one meaningful factor explaining the scale was obtained. The factor was relied on the lower limits (Ligtman), which is considered a statistically significant factor when the latent root that can be interpreted is equal to or greater than one, and the ratio (0.30) and above was adopted as the percentage of saturation of the scale paragraphs with the general factor according to the Gulfford standard, and no paragraph was deleted. The researcher also verified this assumption through the paragraph correlation coefficient with the total score, as it became clear that all paragraphs measure a one-dimensional feature at the level of significance (0.05) and a degree of freedom (298). 2- Matching the items to the model: the statistical program (Rascal) deleted three items when matching Paragraphs of the model based on the chi-square value at the level (0.05) because its value is greater than the tabular chi-square value of (30.14) 3- The value of the coefficient of excellence for the scale is close to (1), as its value was (0.783) 4- The independence of the measurement in order to achieve the objectivity of the measurement and as Represented by the Rasch model, no paragraph was excluded from the scale paragraphs, and in order to get rid of fractions and negative signs, the logite unit was converted into the percentage watt unit for estimates of the difficulty of the paragraphs and for estimates of the ability of individuals, and the researcher reached a set of recommendations and proposals
