Open Access Policy

Al-Fateh Journal for Educational and Psychological Research adopts a full open-access policy. All articles published by the journal are made freely and immediately available through its website without subscription requirements or financial restrictions imposed on readers or institutions.

This policy aims to support the dissemination of educational and psychological knowledge, expand the use of scholarly research, enhance its academic and societal impact, and make it accessible to researchers, students, educational institutions, decision-makers, and interested readers within Iraq and internationally.

First: Immediate Access to Content

  1. The full text of every published article is made available immediately upon publication on the journal’s website.
  2. The journal does not impose an embargo period or delay before providing access to published articles.
  3. Readers are not required to pay fees or subscribe to the journal in order to access or download published content.
  4. The version published on the journal’s website constitutes the official version of record for scholarly citation.

Second: Rights to Use Published Content

Users may read, download, copy, print, share, reuse, and build upon published articles in accordance with the terms of the license adopted by the journal.

Articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0), which permits the use, distribution, and adaptation of content for commercial and noncommercial purposes, provided that users:

  1. Give appropriate credit to the author or authors.
  2. State the article title, journal title, and publication source.
  3. Include the article link or DOI, where available.
  4. Provide a reference or link to the applicable license.
  5. Indicate whether any changes have been made to the work.
  6. Do not present any subsequent use in a manner suggesting endorsement by the authors or the journal without explicit permission.

The detailed provisions of the journal’s published Copyright and Licensing Policy shall apply.

Third: Authors’ Rights

Authors retain the copyright to their work and grant Al-Fateh Journal for Educational and Psychological Research the right of first publication.

The journal’s open-access policy does not prevent authors from retaining copies of their published articles, sharing them, or depositing them in institutional or scholarly repositories in accordance with the terms of the CC BY 4.0 license, provided that the published version, article link, or DOI is properly acknowledged.

Fourth: Access Fees and Publication Fees

The journal does not charge readers, libraries, or institutions any fees for reading or downloading published articles.

Publication fees that may be charged to authors after acceptance are separate from access to published content and do not influence editorial screening, peer review, acceptance, or rejection decisions. All financial details are stated in the journal’s separately published Publication Fee Payment and Waiver Policy.

Fifth: Content Sharing and Indexing

The open-access policy permits published articles to be indexed, preserved, retrieved, and made discoverable through scholarly repositories, digital libraries, databases, and academic search engines, in accordance with the applicable license.

Authors and institutions may share article metadata, links, and published versions in ways that increase their visibility, accessibility, and potential for scholarly citation.

Sixth: Integrity of the Published Version

The Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0) permits users to copy, share, distribute, translate, adapt, and build upon the published work for both commercial and noncommercial purposes, provided that the terms of the license are observed.

When reusing or adapting the work, users must:

  1. Give appropriate credit to the author or authors and acknowledge the original source of publication.
  2. State the article title and the journal’s name and provide the article link or DOI, where available.
  3. Refer to the CC BY 4.0 license and provide a link to it.
  4. Clearly indicate whether the original work has been modified, translated, abridged, or otherwise adapted.
  5. Avoid presenting any subsequent use in a manner that suggests endorsement by the authors or the journal of the user, institution, product, or adaptation, unless explicit permission has been obtained.
  6. Refrain from imposing additional legal or technological restrictions that prevent others from exercising the rights granted under the license.

Responsibility for any adaptation, translation, or derivative work does not transfer to the authors or the journal. The person or entity reusing the work is responsible for the accuracy of any changes made and for ensuring that the adapted work is not presented as the original published version.

The authors’ moral rights and the protection of the work’s integrity remain subject to applicable laws and the principles of research integrity, without imposing additional restrictions that limit the rights granted under the CC BY 4.0 license.
