(Determinants of family planning among married women in Diyala governorate)

Abstract

The issue of family planning does not stem from a vacuum, but rather is a reflection of what a group of independent social, economic, health and demographic variables are. According to these variables, population policies are drawn for each society. We find some societies calling for family planning, while others call for encouraging procreation in the light of creating a budget between natural resources and human resources - the population - and the consequent population shortage or surplus population. With regard to the size of employment and the high level of unemployment, which forced it to export its labor abroad, other countries such as the Gulf states, whose low population and high economic potential led to the import of expatriate labor, and this is what constituted a problem for them as well, due to the lack of indigenous people compared to expatriates.
