Developing citrus cultivation by the open method in Diyala governorate, Baquba district

The research aims to study citrus and the possibilities of cultivating citrus under the shade or in the open way.The soil of the study area, which is the Diyala River Valley, is considered one of the most suitable sites for the expansion of citrus cultivation due to the proximity of the site to the Diyala River and being a climatic zone for the current citrus region represented in Kharnabat and Howider and close to the largest markets in Iraq. The soil in the area has a newly formed sedimentary alluvial sandy composition, and this soil is considered almost typical for citrus cultivation, as well as the irrigation networks in the area are qualified in a manner that is commensurate with the current shape of the land.
