Abstract

The issue of avian influenza has become preoccupying many societies, and it is a disease caused by (a virus) that settles in the intestines of birds (chicken, ducks, geese, pigeons...) which leads to their death, and it has several strains, the most dangerous of which is (H5N1) that also infects humans and leads to their death. ) It was possible to identify this disease about 100 years ago, in the case of infection with domestic birds, it leads to its death between (50-100%) and when it spreads it is difficult to control it, as it requires the execution or screening of infected birds and the application of preventive measures to combat its spread Measures, especially knowing the signs of avian influenza infection (), this disease has spread in many countries, especially Asian ones, and several infections have appeared in Iraq, which requires more efforts to prevent its spread, and farmers are the most social groups who deal in their lives directly with poultry, which is a source of income For their families, and here agricultural extension must exercise its role in educating farmers on how to prevent it, because agricultural extension is considered an essential element in the development of rural society as it aims to transfer ideas and modern techniques to farmers to provide knowledge and change the attitudes and convictions of farmers and change their behavior.
