Abstract

The research aims to identify the effect of using a proposed educational model based on the theory of cognitive upgrading in developing the aesthetic taste of fifth grade literary students in literature and texts. To achieve the goal of the research, the researcher adopted the experimental approach, and a zero hypothesis was developed that was subject to experimentation. The research sample consisted of students in the fifth literary grade in two preparatory schools for boys that were intentionally chosen from schools in the center of Diyala Governorate for the first semester of the year 2019-2020, as it consisted of (76) students distributed There were two groups, the first was experimental, which was studied according to a proposed educational model based on the theory of cognitive advancement, and the other was a control group, which was studied according to the traditional method. The equivalence process was conducted for the two research groups with a number of variables. The researcher used the task of teaching Arabic language teachers in the two schools in which the research was conducted, as achieving the goal of the research required building a test to measure aesthetic taste consisting of (20) items distributed on (4) dimensions: (attention to the element sense of it, emotional inclination, awareness of details, belief in the value of the text), and its validity, stability, and the power of distinguishing its paragraphs have been ascertained.
