Level of the Need for Cognition and Metacognitive Thinking among Students department of science

The study aimed to detect the level of the need for Cognition and meta-cognitive thinking for students of the Science Department . The questionnaire was used to detect the level of need for Cognition and meta-cognitive thinking of the study sample. The results of the study showed that the level of need for Cognition among students in the Department of Science came to a medium degree . The level of meta-cognitive thinking was high. The results showed a positive relationship and significant function between the level of Cognition and the level of cognitive thinking among the students of the Department of Science at the Faculty of Basic Education . Based on these results, the study came out with a number of recommendations, represented by, the importance of focusing on developing the need for Cognition and developing the skills of Cognition needs among students of the Department of Science.
