Abstract

Social belonging is considered one of the widely prevalent concepts in the field of social psychology. This concept has received considerable attention, as it has been emphasized within the content of many theories, including instinct theory, psychoanalytic theory, and the social behavior theory of the individual. Social belonging is clearly manifested in various human activities, situations, and social relationships, as it is regarded as one of the important variables in shaping the human personality due to its functions and direct impact on the behavior of individuals and groups.The current research aims to identify the level of social belonging among preparatory school students. The researcher adopted the descriptive approach to achieve the objective of the study. The researcher also adopted the scale of (Al-Tamimi, 1996), which was applied to a sample of (100) male and female students from preparatory schools affiliated with the Directorate of Education in Wasit Governorate. The study concluded that the research sample has a good level of social belonging. The researcher also presented a number of recommendations and suggestions
