Abstract

The importance of the research lies in identifying the effect of educational units designed according to the RISK (Intelligent Cognitive Processing) Program on learning the underhand serve skill in volleyball among students. The research sample consisted of second-grade intermediate school students from Al-Salam Intermediate School for Boys in Diyala/Baqubah, totaling (40) students.

The research problem was represented by the weakness in performing the skill and the limited use of modern educational programs in the teaching process. The researcher adopted the experimental method using a two-group design (experimental and control groups).

The research hypothesized that there would be statistically significant differences between the pre-test and post-test results of the experimental group in learning the underhand serve skill in volleyball. It also hypothesized the existence of statistically significant differences between the post-test results of the experimental and control groups in learning the same skill.

The most important conclusions indicated that the educational units based on the RISK Program had a significant and positive effect on learning the underhand serve skill in volleyball for the experimental group. Furthermore, the clear superiority of the experimental group over the control group in the underhand serve skill test was a strong indicator of the success of employing the program within the lesson.
