The Effect of the West and Pines Model on the Development of Creative Writing Skills among Second-Year Intermediate School Female Students

Abstract

The present study aimed to investigate the effect of the West and Pines Model on the development of creative writing skills. The research population and sample consisted of second-year intermediate female students at Al-Naqaa Girls' School, affiliated with the Baghdad / Al-Rusafa Third Directorate of Education. The sample was selected randomly and comprised 62 students, who were divided into two groups: an experimental group of 32 students, who studied Arabic language using the West and Pines Model, and a control group of 30 students, who were taught using the conventional method.

After the completion of the experiment, which lasted throughout the second semester of the 2024–2025 academic year, the researcher administered a creative writing skills test to both groups. Statistical analysis of the collected data revealed that the experimental group significantly outperformed the control group in the development of creative writing skills
