Abstract

The significance of this paper lies in both its theoretical and practical dimensions. The study of the sequential practice method represents an attempt to transfer the advantages of this approach from theoretical sciences to applied fields. It contributes effectively to teaching students the fundamental skills of football, as it is a learning method grounded in constructivist theory, which may assist students in overcoming learning situations and achieving desired outcomes and their development. The research problem centers on identifying the extent of the impact of the sequential practice method on selected basic football skills in comparison with the conventional method used in teaching these skills. This method is considered one of the influential approaches in positively modifying behavior from the researchers’ perspective.

students at Al-Hikma University College for the academic year 2025. The study design included two groups: an experimental group and a control group. Pre-tests were conducted prior to implementing the instructional units based on the sequential practice method. The psychological test was administered on Sunday, 15/12/2025, at 9:00 a.m. in the Contemporary Psychological Laboratory .tests were conducted on Monday, 16/12/2025. The instructional program was applied across all sections, followed by post-tests to determine the level of student learning. The results showed statistically significant differences in favor of the sequential practice method. The researchers concluded that this method has a positive effect on the development of visual–motor coordination and the acquisition of the selected football skills among students. The researchers recommend conducting further studies employing modern teaching methods, given their significant impact on learning basic football skills among students.
