The tendency to procrastinate and its relationship to some variables among middle school students

Abstract

The current study aims at shedding light on the concept
"tendency to postponement "by presenting the theoretical
framework of the topic and the previous studies which
tackled with it. Also, it aims at measuring the degree of the
tendency to postponement of the preparatory school students
as well as identifying the statistical differences in this
tendency due to the variables of sex(males and
females),branch(scientific and literary).The study sample
consists of (200) Baqubah preparatory school students.The
researcher adopted Abu-Ghazal's device(2012)which
consists of (21)items. Then, the researcher analyzed the
items statistically by using the terminal comparison
(discriminatory power),and the relation of each item to the
whole .Later, the face validity was found out by exposing
the tool to the jury who was specialized in pedagogical and
psychological sciences whereas the reliability of the study
was derived by the process of retesting which
got(87%),also,the researcher used the statistical package for
social science(SPSS)to analyze the data statistically by using
(Pearson Correlation coefficient , and the T-test for two
independent samples, and the T-test for one sample).The
findings of the study revealed that there is tendency to the
postponement and the males have such tendency more than
