Abstract

The research aimed to identify the statistical differences between the results of the pre-test and post-test for the experimental and control research groups in learning the skills of dribbling and shooting in futsal among female students. The researchers adopted the experimental method, as it was appropriate to the nature of the research procedures, objectives, and hypotheses. They relied on an experimental design involving two equal and separate groups.

The researchers determined the original population of the study, which consisted of female preparatory-stage students in the Baghdad Education Directorate / Third Al-Karkh, specifically in the center of Dhat al-Salasil district. The total population comprised eight secondary schools, with 1,731 female students. Al-Fawz Secondary School for Distinguished Female Students was selected in accordance with the official facilitation letter. The research sample was selected from Al-Fawz Secondary School for Girls and consisted of 74 female students for the academic year 2025–2026. These students were distributed across three classes: Class A with 27 students, Class B with 25 students, and Class C with 27 students.

Accordingly, the two research groups were selected from this population using the systematic random method through a lottery procedure, with a total of 40 students, namely 20 students for each group, from Classes A and B. Thus, the percentage of the research sample amounted to 50.63%.

The researchers conducted homogeneity and equivalence procedures for the two research groups. Subsequent

ly, educational units were prepared based on  Gagne’s instructional model. The researchers used the SPSS statistical package for data analysis.

The researchers reached scientific results upon which the study conclusions were based. The most important conclusion was that designing educational units according to Gagné’s instructional event had a positive effect on learning the skills of dribbling and shooting in futsal. One of the most important recommendations of the study was to emphasize the adoption of Gagné’s instructional model in physical education lessons and in teaching futsal.
