Abstract

The present study aims to evaluate the Moral Education textbook for second-year intermediate students in Iraqi schools for the academic year 2025/2026, by examining the extent to which its cognitive and activity-based content aligns with the moral values appropriate to early adolescent learners13-16years old. The researcher adopted the descriptive analytical method, employing two instruments: a content analysis card comprising four value-based axes religious and Islamic values, national and citizenship values, social and humanitarian values, and personal and behavioral values, and a questionnaire distributed to 60 teachers across eight axes. Following statistical processing using SPSS, findings revealed that the textbook focused predominantly on individual behavioral aspects, with notable weaknesses in religious and national values representation. Results also indicated a shortage in class periods, weak representation of the digital dimension, and absence of a teacher's guide. The study proposes recommendations aimed at developing the textbook and enhancing its effectiveness
