Abstract

The current research aims to identify; the effect of the cloud and Rain strategy on the achievement of social studies among first-year intermediate school students. To achieve the research objectives, the researcher formulated the following hypothesis; There are no statistically significant differences at the (0,05)

Level between the mean scores of the experimental group students who study according to the cloud and rain strategy and the mean scores of the control group students who study according to the traditional method in the social studies achievement test .

The research population consisted of first-year intermediate school students studying in government-run intermediate and secondary day schools for girls affiliated with the General Directorate of Education in Diyala Governorate for the academic year (2025-2026). The researcher applied the experimental method, adopting a quasi- experimental design with two groups (experimental and control). The researcher selected AL-Zahraa Secondary School for Girls in AL-Khalis District to conduct the experiment. The number of students in the two groups was (70), with (35)students in section (A) and (35)students in section (B)

The researcher prepared a post-test consisting of (40) multiple-choice items and administered it to the students in the experimental and control groups after the application period ended. The experiment began on Sunday, October 5,2025 and ended on Sunday. January 4,2026. The researcher verified the tests validity and reliability, as well as its psychometric proper ties (difficulty index, discriminatory power, and effectiveness of alternatives). The researcher applied the research instrument to the students in both research groups and used appropriate statistical methods. The results showed that the students in the experimental group, who studied social studies using the cloud and rain strategy, outperformed the students in the traditional group, who studied the same subject using the conventional method.
